The X-ray department is a crucial part of the healthcare facility, responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging tests, using X-ray technology.
The main purpose of the X-ray department is to help the facility accurately diagnose and monitor various medical conditions, injuries, and diseases, by capturing detailed images of the body.
Before an X-ray examination, patients need to follow specific preparation guidelines, such as changing into a gown, removing jewelry or metallic objects, and positioning themselves appropriately for the X-ray machine. The radiologic technologists operate the X-ray machine, ensuring that the patient is in the correct position and capturing high-quality images.
In addition to traditional X-rays, the department may also perform specialized imaging procedures such as fluoroscopy, where real-time images are obtained using a contrast agent to evaluate the functioning of specific organs or systems. CT scans, mammography, and bone densitometry may also be performed

Leonard Bright Cromwell is the head of the Unit and he is an X-Ray Technician.
Mr. Anokye is the X-Ray Technician of the facility; he sees to the effective completion of X-Ray requested by Physicians. The X-Ray technician is currently pursuing his 1st degree in Radiology at Klintaps in Accra. Before, he already has an HND in Information Technology and completed his Senior High School Education at Takoradi Technical Institute in 2007.
