DIRECTOR/HEAD OF INSTITUTION
The Medical Director supervises all the operations of the facility and all heads of Departments of the facility reports to him. Dr. Edward Donkoh is a Physician Specialist and Medical Director at Nagel Memorial Adventist Hospital, Takoradi.
EDUCATION
He attended St. Anthony Preparatory School for his basic education from 1997-1999 and continued at Pope Johns Snr. High School from 1999-2002 of which he graduated as the Best graduating student for the school. He then furthered his education at the University of Ghana from 2002-2005 and passed successfully with BSc Medical Science, after which he continued at the University of Ghana Medical School, and graduated with MBCHB from 2005-2011.
From 2018-2019, he studied and obtained a post-graduate degree in Paediatric Nutrition and MSc at the Boston University School of Medicine.
He obtained MSc CLINICAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT (Public Health Administration) at the University of Ghana Business School from 2019-2020.
He currently a specialist in internal medicine and holds a Membership of Ghana College of Physicians (GCPS) from the Ghana College of Physician and Surgeons, where he read Internal Medicine.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Dr. Edward Donkoh was appointed as a Medical Officer at Nagel Memorial Adventist Hospital in the year 2013. In 2015, he was appointed the Medical Director of the Facility. Since then NMAH has seen a medical transformation under his direction and leadership.
In 2015, he was appointed and voted as the Western Regional Chairman of Ghana RedCross. He was also appointed as the National Health Advisor of Ghana RedCross.
He served as the chief Resident at Cape Coast teaching hospital internal medicine department in 2021
In 2023, he was elected as the National vice president of the Ghana red cross society apposition he still carries.
PROFESSIONAL AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Edward Donkoh’s area of professional research interest is in the area of Internal Medicine and is very passionate about reducing deaths from kidney diseases. He led a team of health professional (AHP Adventist health professionals) to vaccinate 10000 people against hepatitis b in 2014 in the western region

Dr. Edward Donkoh has a pleasant disposition towards all, he has very good communication skills, high aptitude for creative problem solving, strong team work ethics, great organizational and planning capabilities and strong vision for total development.
