He Facilitates pharmaceutical care services, directs patient care programs, medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas to assure drug utilization activities are aligned with patient care needs, evidence-based best practices, and regulatory standards
Dr. Panford Ofori Quansah, is the Head of Pharmacy at Nagel Memorial Adventist Hospital. He is a passionate Clinical Pharmacist with a keen interest in clinical pharmacy and research. He has already embarked on an exciting journey in the field of pharmacy, constantly seeking knowledge and contributing to the betterment of healthcare.
EDUCATION
He pursued his higher education at the esteemed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2013 - 2019, where he earned Degree of Doctor of Pharmacy. In this program, he did extensive research in “Antimicrobial properties of Astonia Boonie constituents. This educational experience provided him with a solid foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and patient care. Before that, he attended T.I. Ahamadiyya Snr. High School in Kumasi in 2008 - 2012, where he laid the groundwork for his academic excellence. He was enrolled in NIIT to study computer programming and networking from 2007 – 2009.
He currently holds a degree in Management and Leadership from Mckinsey Academy, New York. (2021-23)
PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
As a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist, he had the privilege of working in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and community pharmacies before his official appointment as clinical pharmacist of Nagel Memorial Adventist Hospital in 2021. He had worked as pharmacist in Suntreso Government hospital where he was mainly in-charge of in-patient pharmaceutical care from 2019 – 2021. During the same period, He was the manager for Lissons Health Service Pharmacies.
His career has been focused on optimizing patient outcomes through safe and effective medication management. He believes in the power of continuous learning and he is actively involved in clinical research to stay updated with the latest developments in pharmaceuticals.
PROFESSIONAL AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
His professional interest is in the area of Cardiothoracic care, intensive care and infectious diseases.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
In his free time, he indulges in various hobbies that nourishes mind and spirit. He is an avid reader and find joy in exploring diverse topics, from scientific research to fiction and philosophy. His love for clinical research is not limited to only his professional life; he enjoys keeping abreast of groundbreaking studies that advance the field of pharmacy.
Beyond his academic and healthcare interests, he has a flair for computer programming whichallows him to combine his analytical mindset with creativity, finding innovative solutions to complex problems. Additionally, he is an ardent football enthusiast, often taking breaks to enjoy the beautiful game with friends and family.
